Verve has wonderfully lowered my blood sugar levels from the 200's down to between 92 and 120! It has helped so much that I take much less oral medications for my type 2 diabetes! I was taking 3 different pills to control blood sugar and it was not really doing the job.
After I started drinking a can of Verve everyday, my doctor took me off one of the pills, saying that I didn't need that medicine anymore, as my blood sugar had dropped from 250 to about 143.* I continued drinking Verve and found by experimenting a little bit, I didn't need my nighttime diabetes medication either! Mangosteen Juice and Nutrition Supplements are DifferentThere is a big difference between drinking Mangosteen Juice and taking Nutrition Supplements, if you are taking them for good health and well being. I am referring to taking supplements to prevent sickness rather than deal with the symptoms of sickness after those symptoms have occurred. This article will outline the differences between drinking mangosteen juice and taking nutrition supplements to keep you healthy and well. Before outlining the differences, here are some definitions, in case you haven’t heard some of these terms before.
The Mangosteen Fruit
The mangosteen fruit has become more widely known in the western world over the last several years.
Xanthones are some very powerful antioxidants that have been found within
mangosteen. Over more than the last 400 years, mangosteen has been used in
Asian countries for a number of different health concerns. Western countries are now doing their own
research and realizing the benefits of the mangosteen.
Xanthones in the Mangosteen FruitFor several decades, xanthones have been the subject of intensive research. They are most abundant in the pericarp (the ripened inside walls) of the mangosteen fruit. Research has found that xanthones are even more powerful antioxidants than those found in vitamins. Articles showing research about the effects of xanthones on different health concerns such as heart disease, cancer, strokes, arthritis, inflammation, chronic fatigue, diabetes and others have appeared in professional journals such asJournal of Pharmacology, The Journal of Natural Products, Free Radical Research, The Environmental Health Prospectus, The Journal of Phyto Chemistry, and The European Journal of Pharmacology. Mangosteen contains approximately 40 different xanthones within the extracts of the pericarp. For many years in South East Asia, the pericarp of the mangosteen has been used as a traditional medicine for the treatment of skin infections and wounds. It has been established through research and tests, that mangosteen is of benefit to your health and well being, and it can decrease your changes of getting certain diseases. With all the different kinds of mangosteen juices on the market, and the different nutritional supplements with the mangosteen in them, how do you know which ones are going to give you the full benefits of these xanthones? Experts say we should check for independent laboratory tests performed on a particular product, to see how many xanthones are contained within it. The main source of xanthones is the pericarp and the seeds of the mangosteen, so the highest quality mangosteen juice products must utilize the whole fruit puree, where they have milled the entire fruit-pulp, seeds and pericarp together. The higher amount of xanthones and therefore the full nutritional and healing value of mangosteen will only be contained within a whole fruit process. Method of PreparationThe method of preparation is another important consideration when comparing mangosteen products. Right up until the point of time when they are heated, the nutrients in the mangosteen fruit are living. Cooking the juice prior to bottling can kill the nutrients and make the juice acidic, rendering some preservatives more harmful. Look out for cold processing of the mangosteen fruit because many mangosteen supplement manufacturers cook their juice prior to bottling.Differences between Mangosteen Juice and a Good Quality Nutrition SupplementThe difference between mangosteen juice and a good quality nutritional supplement, is that the supplement will have additional nutrients such as the full spectrum of vitamins and plant based minerals, and perhaps other ingredients such as green tea and aloe vera.
The additional effects are huge when minerals are added to a nutritional
supplement. For chronic conditions,
especially neuro degenerative conditions, mineral deficiencies are believed to
be very high. After 60 years of the
environment being exploited the soil has been depleted of minerals and the nutrients
in fruit and vegetables are not there like they were years ago. People claim they can get all the nutrients
from the fruit and vegetables they eat so don’t need a nutritional supplement. However, the fruit and vegetables will not
contain nutrients if the minerals are no longer in the soil. Very few of us eat properly anyway and most
of us eat packaged food and fast food, which doesn’t have many nutrients. Energy production and protection from free radical damage comes from mineralsEnergy production and protection from free radical damage comes from minerals, as well as other vital functions. Selenium, magnesium and calcium are a few of the important minerals. Research demonstrates that deficiencies in these minerals are associated with certain diseases such as cancer, osteoporosis and cardiac implications. There is also a lot of medical research showing that the depletion of certain vitamin types is related to cancer, alzheimer’s disease, and dermatitis.Independent ORAC Testing measures Antioxidant power
